Bedbug Treatment

Once you have discovered a bedbug infestation you must prepare for the treatment. A thorough cleaning of the home is your first order of business. This is a very important preparatory measure and should not be taken lightly.

1. REDUCE CLUTTER ( i.e. throw out shoeboxes, newspapers, etc.)
2. Remove all linens from all beds/vacuum beds (note below).
3. Remove all curtains from windows (note below).
4. Remove any pet food that is out in the open.
5. All linens and curtains must be washed in extremely HOT WATER by MACHINE before you put them back.
6. Vacuum floors.
7. Wash all clothes in HOT WATER and DRY at HIGH HEAT.
8. Leave all clothing in bags until area is determined to be pest free. We recommend this until after second scheduled treatment.
9. Purchase vinyl covers for mattress and box spring. After initial treatment cover and tape openings closed with duct tape. We offer a full line of bedbug-proof mattress encasements. Speak to Lucy to order.
10. Go through all items within 10 feet of bed. After inspection bag item and seal bag.
11. If couch or other upholstered items are contaminated throw out. Wrap in plastic prior to moving and mark with spray paint to discourage others from taking back into building.
12. Inform pest control operator of any health issues; such as pregnancy/asthma/reduced lung capacity, etc.
13. We recommend small children vacate the premises for 24 hours.
14. Do not touch treated areas until dry.
15. DO NOT TREAT YOURSELF USING FOGGERS OR OVER THE COUNTER BOMBS.
16. Remove all items from under bed.
17. Bag as many items as possible in clear bags. Make sure to inspect all items first.

A technician will inspect your home thoroughly for evidence of bedbug activity. Items identified as untreatable must be discarded.Do not purchase new bedding until after your treatment is complete
